Ivelisse Rodriguez has taught for over sixteen years in colleges and universities across the country—in Miami, Chicago, New York City, etc. She holds a Ph.D. in English-creative writing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Two of her areas of expertise are US Latinx literature and a comparison of blackness in US Latinx literature. She participated in Bridging Historias, a two-year National Endowment of the Humanities funded program focused on infusing Latinx history into multiple disciplines. She is also the founder and editor of an interview series focused on contemporary Puerto Rican writers, published by the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College.
Dr. Rodriguez teaches Latinx Studies on MTC.
